Fifteen years ago, Phuc Yea started with six four-tops, one glitter sign, and a pop-up in Downtown Miami.

There was no big dining room. No rulebook. Just a love for food, culture, and an idea Miami hadn’t seen before.

An idea to create something entirely its own — rooted in Vietnamese heritage and family recipes, but shaped by hip-hop, street art, and the unmistakable energy of Miami.

Five years later, on September 1, 2016, we opened our doors at 7100 Biscayne Boulevard.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

Today, we’re celebrating 15 years of Phuc Yea and 10 years at 7100 Biscayne — 15 years of food, culture, community, and memories that have made this restaurant what it is today.

It Started With a Pop-Up in Downtown Miami

Before Phuc Yea had a permanent home, it was a pop-up.

Six four-top tables. One glitter sign. One idea.

That was enough.

From the beginning, Phuc Yea was never designed to fit neatly into the traditional idea of what a Vietnamese restaurant should be. We wanted to create something that felt like Miami — multicultural, creative, energetic, and a little unpredictable.

Vietnamese food was the foundation, but it was never the entire story.

Family recipes and Vietnamese culinary traditions met the culture surrounding us. Hip-hop. Street art. Music. Nightlife. The people of Miami.

The goal wasn’t to recreate something that already existed.

It was to make something that could only exist here.

What Is Phuc Yea?

At its heart, Phuc Yea is a Vietnamese restaurant in Miami.

But after 15 years, we know that a restaurant can be much more than a category.

Phuc Yea is our take on Vietnamese food, shaped by the city we’ve called home for more than a decade.

It’s a place where tradition and creativity can exist at the same table. Where family recipes can evolve. Where dinner can turn into drinks, drinks can turn into music, and a night out can become a story you end up telling years later.

We’ve never been interested in following a formula.

Instead, we’ve tried to build something with a point of view — something that respects Vietnamese heritage while embracing the culture, energy, and personality of Miami.

That’s what Phuc Yea has always been about.

From Six Tables to 7100 Biscayne

For the first five years, Phuc Yea lived in the world of pop-ups and temporary spaces.

Then, on September 1, 2016, we opened at 7100 Biscayne Boulevard.

For the first time, Phuc Yea had a permanent home.

And over the next ten years, 7100 Biscayne became much more than an address.

It became the place where birthdays were celebrated, first dates happened, friends gathered, business dinners turned into late nights, and regulars became part of the family.

People have walked through our doors to eat, drink, dance, laugh, celebrate, reconnect, and stay for “one more drink.”

We’ve watched people grow up around these tables.

We’ve watched friendships become relationships, relationships become families, and guests become familiar faces we look forward to seeing.

That’s what makes a restaurant feel like home.

A Miami Restaurant Built Around Culture

Food has always been at the center of Phuc Yea, but it has never existed in isolation.

Culture is part of the experience.

Over the years, we’ve worked with artists, musicians, chefs, creators, and communities to bring new energy into the restaurant. We’ve hosted events, dinners, parties, collaborations, and experiences that give people another reason to come together.

Because that’s what Miami does best.

It brings different cultures, influences, and personalities into the same room.

Phuc Yea has always reflected that.

The city around us has changed dramatically over the last 15 years. So has the restaurant industry. So have we.

But the idea remains the same:

Create something with a point of view. Make it feel like Miami. Stay connected to where you came from. And never be afraid to do something differently.

Vietnamese Food in Miami, Our Way

Vietnamese cuisine is at the heart of Phuc Yea.

Our food is rooted in Vietnamese heritage, ingredients, flavors, techniques, and family recipes.

But we don’t believe tradition means standing still.

For us, honoring Vietnamese food means understanding where it comes from while continuing to explore where it can go.

That’s why the menu has evolved over the years.

We’ve continued to push ourselves to create food that feels familiar and unexpected at the same time — bold flavors, thoughtful cooking, and dishes that keep the spirit of Vietnamese cuisine at the center.

The result is our own interpretation of Vietnamese food in Miami.

Not a replica.

Not a formula.

Phuc Yea.

From a Miami Pop-Up to a Michelin-Recognized Restaurant

The journey from six tables to where we are today has been anything but predictable.

Along the way, Phuc Yea has earned recognition from the MICHELIN Guide, including multiple Bib Gourmand distinctions.

We’re proud of that recognition.

But what matters most isn’t the award itself. It’s what it represents: years of work by the people behind the restaurant.

The cooks who arrive before everyone else.

The servers who remember your usual order.

The bartenders who know when you need another drink.

The managers keeping everything moving.

The chefs constantly tasting, adjusting, and pushing.

The people washing dishes, setting tables, answering phones, and making sure the doors are ready to open again tomorrow.

Restaurants don’t happen because of one person.

They’re built by teams.

And Phuc Yea has had an incredible number of people contribute to its story over the years.

15 Years of People

Restaurants are often measured in years.

Fifteen years ago, Phuc Yea was six four-top tables in a Downtown Miami pop-up.

Today, the Phuc Yea family has grown to six footprints.

That’s a pretty wild journey for something that started with a glitter sign and an idea.

But growth has never been about getting bigger just for the sake of getting bigger.

It’s about continuing to create places where people can experience the food, culture, hospitality, and energy that have defined Phuc Yea from the beginning.

Every footprint is another opportunity to introduce someone to what we’ve been building.

And every one brings us back to the original idea:

Make something that feels like us.

Ten Years at 7100 Biscayne

September 1, 2026 marked ten years since we opened the doors at 7100 Biscayne.

Ten years is a long time in Miami.

It’s long enough to see neighborhoods change, trends come and go, restaurants open and close, and entire chapters of the city unfold.

Through all of it, Phuc Yea has remained here.

Still cooking.

Still evolving.

Still bringing people together.

Still making noise.

And still trying to make the next night better than the last.

Ten years at the same address is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Because restaurants aren’t guaranteed to last ten years.

They’re certainly not guaranteed to make it fifteen.

The fact that Phuc Yea has done both is something we don’t take for granted.

What Comes Next for Phuc Yea?

If the last 15 years have taught us anything, it’s that standing still isn’t really an option.

Miami changes.

Food changes.

People change.

And Phuc Yea changes with it.

We’re continuing to explore new ways to bring people together around food, culture, art, music, and hospitality.

We’re continuing to collaborate with the people who make Miami such an interesting place to live, work, eat, and create.

And we’re continuing to cook the food we love.

The next chapter won’t look exactly like the last one.

That’s a good thing.
